Summer Sankofa Genealogy Workshop – Saturday, July 19, 11 am – 5:30 pm
Are you ready to dive deeper into your family history? The Lemon Project invites you to our hybrid summer genealogy workshop, the Summer Sankofa Genealogy Workshop. We provide a space that allows family historians to collaborate and learn more about genealogy research.
If you’ve participated in our genealogy workshops, you will be ready to join a community of genealogists who are dedicated to documenting and sharing their stories. In this year's hybrid program, we are partnering with William & Mary’s Swem Library and the Bray School Lab. Together, in the spirit of Sankofa, we connect the past and present as we seek to learn more about the lives of our ancestors.
The virtual part of the workshop will take place between 11 am to 3:00 pm.
Lunch will be available at no cost to in-person attendees.
Register soon, as our in-person space is limited to 70 people!
William & Mary Libraries will host an Afternoon Social from 3:15 - 5:00 pm
Please join us in the library after the workshop for a social gathering where attendees can share their genealogical research or showcase family heirlooms that connect to their ancestry. This is an excellent opportunity to engage with fellow researchers, exchange stories, and celebrate family history. Heavy hors d’oeuvres will be served—we hope you can join us!
